Found mostly in the northern half of the USA, the Cedar Waxwing is a silky bird of brown, grey, and lemon-yellow feathers, accented with a crest, rakish black mask, and brilliant red wax droplets on the wing feathers. In fall they gather by the hundreds to eat berries, filling the air with their high, thin whistles.
The Cornell Lab of Ornithology has developed QR codes which allow you to listen to the songs and calls of hundreds of birds, right from your smart phone. NYPC have harnessed this educational technology to allow you to hear these birds sing while completing your puzzle. The QR code is on the back of the box.
