We are always searching for toys and play companions that capture a child’s imagination while championing brands that are passionate about supporting the growth of little ones whilst simultaneously protecting the planet. Makers of elegant and bold toys and dolls, it is with absolute delight that we welcome the latest addition to our shelves: We Are Gommu.

A family company based in Barcelona, Barb Bruno and Gerard Lazcano founded Gommu with a vision to do something truly different in the children's industry. Their designs are deeply inspired by their Mediterranean surroundings and a shared admiration for Japanese culture—particularly the simple, functional shapes of Japanese design, a respect for nature, and the beauty found in imperfection. In fact, Gommu means “rubber” in Japanese. With these twin influences, Barb and Gerard set out to create collections centred entirely around quality, comfort, and fun.

Crafted mostly in Europe, We Are Gommu’s high-quality toy and doll collections are truly special. A strong image and a unique story are imagined for each collection, weaving in the freedom of children’s minds alongside a bold, not-so-serious attitude. The result is a family of toys that make children feel involved, help them to learn, or simply fall in love with a piece they will remember forever.

Crafted Entirely from the Earth

Designed to support early emotional development and creative, open-ended play, each design's simplicity draws attention to the care taken in production. Each doll is made from 100% natural Hevea rubber, which is biodegradable and completely free from PVC, BPA, and phthalates. Eyes and noses are painted using only organic, food-grade pigments, meaning they are completely safe for tiny hands to squeeze and curious mouths to explore during those teething months.

Lovingly Made by Hand

Because every Gommu piece is individually hand-painted by skilled artisans, no two are ever exactly alike. Each doll bears its own tiny, unique imperfections—a subtle brushstroke here, a gentle shade difference there—giving it a wonderful, soulful character that mass-produced plastic toys can never replicate.

They are also ingeniously designed for everyday life: their one-piece construction means they are completely watertight. You can bring them into the family bath or the paddling pool without ever having to worry about trapped moisture or internal mould.
