Metta & Magic

Creating under the name 'Metta and Magic', Janice is an illustrator based in the Peak District, UK, whose work is shaped by a love of nature, seasonal rhythms and the quiet magic found in everyday life. Drawing inspiration from folklore, fairytales, moon phases and the changing landscape, her illustrations feel thoughtful, grounded and gently whimsical.

Working primarily in greeting cards, prints and paper goods - perfect for gifting to loved ones or keeping for yourself - each design brings a little light to every day as a gentle reminder of the quiet magic that is always around us. Much of her inspiration is gathered on countryside walks, noticing small details under wide skies and among hedgerows and wildflowers. Rooted in slow living and seasonal thinking, her artwork is calming and soulful.

Alongside her own collections, Janice also works as a freelance illustrator for magazines, websites and album covers, always weaving story and a sense of connection to the natural world into her work.
