We recently received a selection of charming new greetings cards designed to help you celebrate the arrival of little ones, birthdays and general good news. We love the fluid lines and playful details we now associate with Little Em’s unique drawing style, and feel that each card not only makes a cheerful gesture but is also a print in its own right!
For welcoming new arrivals, the Whales New Baby Card and Welcome To The World Card both capture our connection to the natural world with illustrations of whales and planet earth, whilst the Over The Moon For You Card acts as a versatile message to commemorate a new job, new home, engagement, or any moment deserving of well wishes.
For those aged 1-6 who are celebrating their birthdays, Emma has illustrated individual number cards featuring otters, puffins, insects, squirrels, seals and frogs using paints and inks applied by hand, before making digital tweaks and final touches.
Adding bursts of colour and character to bedroom walls and living spaces, we currently have a few wall hangings left in stock accompanied by A3 art prints. Be sure to take a look at Little Em’s own webstore too, for more homewares, including ‘waste not’ textile accessories, made from any studio offcuts and scrap fabrics.
Focusing on colour palettes that children and parents will both love, which fit perfectly into stylish nurseries and children’s interiors, the variety of prints, illustrations and decorative artwork reflect inspirations taken from nature and childhood memories of the outdoors, including time Emma spent exploring near her childhood home on a farm in Shropshire surrounded by a family of makers.
Being environmentally conscious is a key element to Little Em, and within the business reducing the environmental impact is hugely important. For each card recycled/FSC high quality paper is used and for homewares natural fibres are used where possible, either linen or cotton, avoiding the use of synthetic fabrics across each collection. Each item is designed by Emma and made in Britain, to not only celebrate British design but to also keep the carbon footprint of the products low. Any offcut fabrics are made into smaller textile products, as waste free tokens.
