The design principle behind byAliceWood is that "form follows function". Creating beautiful, carefully crafted leather goods, Alice, the founder of byAliceWood sees the beauty in simplicity and focuses on the shape of an object being relative to its intended function or purpose. After studying 3D design at Loughborough College of Art (now Loughborough University) and graduating with a 1st degree (hons) in Jewellery and Silversmithing, Alice combines these two elements to craft each of her vegetable leather tan makeup bags, stud purses and large handbags.

Having always loved rummaging in junk shops and collecting old utilitarian bags, Alice uses these to influence her practical designs and uses quality materials to produce simple but stylish, well made items. byAliceWood designs make for the perfect gift and everyday accessory, destined to get better with age.

Alice lives in Plymouth with her family,  and has her workshop at the bottom of her garden!
