Famous for their avantgarde styles and collaborations with unconventional design studios such as Fecal Matter for their own Fecal Matter x Trippen shoes capsule range, since the early 1990’s Trippen founders Angela Spieth and Michael Oehler have been creating footwear collections that embody the spirit of their hometown of Berlin. Inspired by archival vintage designs that they add their own distinctive touch to, Trippen offers stand-out male, female and unisex footwear styles crafted from high quality materials such as vegetable tanned leather, native timber and natural rubber. Trippen shoe designs are perhaps best recognised for bold shaped heels and elevated soles, both of which can be removed, repurposed and repaired as part of their social and eco responsibility vision.

The Trippen Women’s ‘Luck’ Shoes - Cuoio Tan are a ballerina style shoe with a narrow ankle strap and buckle fastening, made from 100% vegetable tan leather. Demonstrating a genuine focus towards ethical and environmentally conscious production, these shoes are sat upon a lightweight, flexible and low profile Penna sole type, produced using solvent free adhesives. We have these in stock for UK sizes 3.5 - 8 with a 6.5 half size. We find that the fit runs true to size.
Offering a rich colour hue to spring and summer outfits, the Trippen Women’s ‘Safeguade’ Sandals - Berry feature an open toe look with a secure elastic heel strap cut from the same 100% vegetable tanned leather as the rest of the shoe. Perfect for both summer city strolling and beach days, the sturdy sandals are fully repairable and will gently soften over time. We have these in stock for UK sizes 3.5 - 8 with a 6.5 half size. We find that the fit runs true to size.
For the colder months, the Trippen Women’s ‘Micro’ Wool Lined Boot - Black features a wool lining for increased warmth and two durable loops on either side of the generously sized entry that continue as decorative piping. We have chosen the Katmandu sole unit for this style, which is a lower profile than other options, making it more flexible that will increase further with wear. For winter and into spring, the Trippen Women's 'Ploy' Ankle Boot - Forest is a casual unisex bootie with a folded toe and zip fastener at the heel. A fresh take on the classic pixie boot, even before wearing this design you can sense the softness of the leather as it drapes around the ankle!
New collections are released each season but it is clear that each shoe, boot, sandal and accessory has been designed with life-long wear in mind; highlighted by the fact that every Trippen shoe design is fully repairable and resoleable. Taking used soles and recycling them to create future pairs of shoes, boots and sandals, Trippen are honest about their design, manufacturing and sourcing processes and have progressive ideas about how they can minimise overall waste as much as possible. In late 2022 Trippen announced that worn out Trippen shoes could be brought to any of their stores to support the circulation of materials, in addition to the solar panels on the top of the Zehdenick factory adding towards energy neutrality.
Drawing inspiration from a variety of sources, Trippen has developed their own aesthetic with a strong design identity that leads the way with fresh styles, leading them to become a trend influencer in their own right.
